How to fix the bottom of an invisible zipper
Ok, to fix the bottom of an invisible heres the 10 step process:
Step 1 - Put your zipper foot on your machine. If the zipper foot is adjustable, have the foot on the right hand side.
Step 2 - Move the needle across so that it is as close as possible to the zipper foot, without touching it.
Step 3 - Unpick any loose threads from the old seam.
Step 4 - Begin sewing at least 2″ below the broken thread.
Step 5 - Sew up the original seam, making sure to sew exactly on the seam, as you come up towards the zipper, you must sew as close as possible to the zip.
Step 6 - Make sure that the zipper is folded
Step 7 - Sew up past the end of the zipper, to about 1/2″ past the stitching on the zipper. You should be able to see the original stitch holes, so sew over the top of these if possible.
This is the easiest and fastest way to fix the bottom of an invisible zipper, and is one of the things I cover in my clothing alterations book.
Happy sewing
