Shortening Jacket Sleeves with buttonhole cut

Some designers are cutting the buttonholes on the end of the jacket sleeves.  This makes it impossible to shorten from the bottom.  The only solution is the shorten by taking the sleeve out and shortening from the shoulder.  Unless you have dress making skills I would not recommend it.  Briefly however, take from the top (head) of the sleeve and the bottom of the sleeve.  Do not take from the sides of the sleeve if that makes sense.
