The Essentials Package are those items I believe you need to perform professional clothing alterations.  You will notice that I have not included scissors or sewing needles, because most people would have these items.  

 

The items below are not as easy to obtain, and each item has a specific function.  For example the Skirt Marker - Puff Chalk allows you to straighten a hem on a skirt or dress that is crooked.  The unit rests on the floor and you either move around the customer or the customer moves around the Chalk marker as you puff chalk onto the garment.  I prefer to move around the person, but if the floor was not even I would have the customer move around the unit.  The new chalk line would be your new fold line.  The only way to get the hem straight without this device is to measure from the floor up to the new length (all the way around the garment) which is time consuming and your back will more than likely be aching by the time you get half way around.

• Cone Thread Holder - Second thread for jeans can go here or put a 5,000 reel thread which means you will be more economical

• Hat Pins - for pinning thick fabric like jeans
